Tania Borja is a Holistic Health Practitioner, Reiki Master, Community Organizer/Advocate, and Entrepreneur.  She is the founder and C.E.O. at Lunae Healing Arts, C.E.O. at ALIDDESA Women Centre in Toronto, Board member of ImmDev (Immigrant Development) Organization in Toronto, Founder and active member of Colectivo Colibri Collective and active member of other arts and culture local collectives.   Tania has professional training in different kinds of alternative, holistic and complementary methods and therapies from a body-mind-soul perspective. She graduated in 2008  from Transformational Arts College  in Toronto, Ontario as a Natural Health Practitioner and  also holds a Bachelor Degree in Legal Studies from Universidad de las Americas A.C. in Mexico City, 2000.

 

Tania has explored different areas of creative expression such as theatre, video, poetry, and has been involved in various community arts and cultural projects to encourage other community members, specially women, youth and children to discover and develop their own artistic expression. Her personal and professional approach is inclusive, empowering and committed to service. Tania has created Lunae Healing Arts and her goal is to support individuals' healing processes in the most appropriate way, incorporating all the tools of her knowledge and expertise in a dynamic and versatile healing session.  Tania specializes in subtle modalities that benefit Body, Mind and Emotions such as Reiki, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Gem-Crystal Therapy and Meditation. She has over 5 years experience working in the field of Health Food Industry in Toronto as a Nutritional Supplements Advisor and Retail Manager & over 10 years  experience facilitating holistic and alternative therapies to groups and individuals.

Tania's community and professional work has helped and continues to touch the lives of many women, youth and children. She has successfully planned, organized and facilitated several events (talks, workshops, demonstrations, fairs and lectures) on Holistic and Alternative Health for different organizations, community centres, and collectives resulting in over 500 people from our local Latin American community feeling more empowered and knowledgeable about their own health and well being.  Tania has a long and well known trajectory as an active member and volunteer at different organizations and artists collectives that encourage people to develop their own social and creative expressions and participation. Tania has been an apprentice of the Mayan Ceremonial Tradition with Indigenous Elders from Mexico and Guatemala for the past 12 years, she is now an initiated practitioner (also called in Kiche  Maya)  Aj’qij or “Time Keeper” of the Sacred Mayan Cholqi’j Calendar.  Tania has being learning the principles of the Mayan Cosmo-vision and the Sacred Fire Ceremonies; she has assisted and performed along side the Elders various Mayan Fire ceremonies in Central  America, Mexico, Canada and India.

 

Tania is currently collaborating as a community advocate in the Davenport Perth neighbourhood, as well as teaching Reiki and developing her private practice in Toronto.  Her interests are Traditional Aboriginal Medicine and Cultures, Self Development, Social Justice, Minorities Empowerment, Ecology, Gardening, Plants, Healthy Cuisine, Arts, Crafts, Spirituality and Traveling amongst others; through them she wishes to contribute to the greater global consciousness in a respectful and peaceful way.

  • Facilitated several series of workshops and lectures on Natural and Holistic Health topics for and at different organizations (2008-present) ALIDDESA Women Centre, Working Women Community Centre, The Brigde Community Centre, TRCC/MWAR (Toronto Rape Crisis Centre/Multicultural Women Against Rape), Las Perlas del Mar News, Teach2Learn.

  • Planned and executed different community oriented events such as Health and Wellbeing Fairs and events, Holistic Health talks, workshops and demonstrations, Children’s Festivals and activities, Catwalks showcasing Holistic Jewels by Lunae Jewels her very own designer brand (2009-present) 

  • Founder of the Holistic Health Fair, First and Second editions (2013) at Steel Workers Union Hall and Metro City Hall.

  • Co-facilitated series of radio and Internet TV interviews on Natural Health topics, (2009-2013) Radio Voces Latinas, Las Perlas del Mar News.

  • Participant, facilitator and co-organizer of First Congress of Alternative Therapies for Women, (2012) with Las Perlas del Mar News and TRCC/MWAR (Toronto Rape Crisis Centre/Multicultural Women Against Rape).
